Parrad

Discovered in 2016 with the jazzy “That Thing” , the soundtrack to the advertising campaign for a prestigious French furniture brand, the duo had already stood out with their remixes of The Do , Phoenix and Mura Masa .

One of its two members, Atom , has simultaneously enjoyed success through his presence within the quartet of DJs C2C , a group with multiple awards: 4 Victoires de la Musique, a double platinum disc as well as 5 titles of turntablism world champions.

For this new artistic project, he joined forces with Gwen Delabar , for whom he served as sound engineer during the mixing of her first album. After developing new compositions together, the two artists decided to swap their respective hats as sound engineer and singer for a new electronic epic as producers behind the machines. This is where Parrad was born .

Their first EP is accompanied on the track “So Cold” by a sublime music video filmed in Tokyo . Inviting promising artists Degree and Nerlov for a dreamlike and disconcerting piece, mixing both English and French, the video constitutes the first chapter of a triptych telling through dance the story of a couple falling apart. We then navigate between the emotions of the dancers and the polished urban framing of the photographer Glashier , behind the camera for the occasion with his collective When You Hear The Warning .

Renowned for the dark atmospheres of his photos which recall the cinematographic universe of David Lynch, he had already directed for Fatboy Slim or Bonobo.

Here, he takes us with his dancers into the streets which then take the form of a protagonist in his own right, as a witness to the lost love of this couple who cannot manage to separate.

What better way to open this EP than the soaring “The One” , the first track taking us on a journey between mysterious atmospheres and catchy melodies. The third track, Flag Pole” , cuts to the chase, calling for a symphonic and warlike atmosphere by inviting another duo, AllttA , which is none other than the combination of 20syl ( C2C , Hocus Pocus ) and the Californian rapper Mr. J. Medeiros .
