20syl

A graduate of the Nantes School of Fine Arts, 20syl has been developing a unique universe since the beginning of the nineties by bringing together organic textures and digital rhythms. It is this formula which makes the success of Hocus Pocus, founded in 1995, of which he is the thinking head behind the machines but also at the front of the stage. He produced the group's 5 albums, including the highly acclaimed Place 54, crowned with a gold record. At the same time, he distinguished himself within the C2C collective with which he won 5 turntablism world champion titles and democratized the discipline with the album Tetra which was released in 2012.
A colossal success, it brought the group 4 Victoires de la Musique and became double platinum. On the sidelines of these public recognitions, 20syl continues his career in his own name as an MC with key artists of the underground such as Grems, Raashan Ahmad or Blitz the Ambassador. But it is as a producer that he is most prolific and gains worldwide fame firstly through the numerous remixes he produces (Marvin Gaye, Cesaria Evora, Damon Albarn and Schoolboy Q) but above all through the release in 2014 of his highly anticipated first solo EP “Motifs”. Latest project with Mr. J. Medeiros: The Upper Hand, the first
album by AllttA, an unclassifiable Franco-Californian duo. Co-creator of the label On and on Records, 20syl has seduced the world with a sharp identity far from trends and the beaten track, making him an essential figure in the contemporary music scene. In addition to this unique musical production that he brings, allowing him to collaborate with numerous artists, he also stands out for the production of visuals, videos as well as more experimental projects such as “Le U” Sound and interactive Skateboard Ramp.
